The Directions
Start with ch6, join with sl st to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch5, (1tr into the loop, ch1) x 15, sl st into 4th ch of the starting ch5.
Round 2: Ch6, 1dc into the same st, {skip 1 st, (1dc, ch3, 1dc)
into the next st (on top of 1tr)}. It makes a V-st, repeat this V-st pattern in {} 14 more times, sl st into 3rd ch of the starting ch6, sl st into 2 subsequent st.
Round 3: Ch6, 2dc into the underlying 3ch space, (2dc, 3ch, 2dc) into the 3ch sp of next underlying V-st, this makes cl-V-st. Repeat this cl-V-st 14 more times in 3ch sp of each of the next underlying V-st. 1dc into the st from where starting ch6 is originating. Sl st into 3rd ch of the starting ch6. Sl st into 2 subsequent st.
Round 4: Repeat round 3 until last cl-V-st is made. 1dc into the st from where starting ch6 is originating. Sl st into 3rd ch of the starting ch6. Sl st into one subsequent st.
Round 5: Ch4, 4tr into the underlying 3ch sp. {Ch6, 6tr into the 3ch sp of next underlying cl-V-st}. This makes a 6tr-shell. Repeat the pattern {} 14 more times. Ch6, 1tr into the st from where starting ch4 is originating. Sl st into the top of ch4.
Round 6: Ch5, 1tr into next st, (ch1, 1tr into next st) x 3, {2sc into the 6ch sp of underlying st, 1tr into next st,( ch1, 1 tr into next st) x 5}. Repeat the pattern in {} 14 more times. 2sc into underlying 6ch sp, 1tr into next st, ch1, sl st into 4th ch of starting ch5.
Round 7: Ch1, 1sc into underlying ch1 sp, (ch4, 1sc into next ch1 sp) x 3, {ch4, skip underlying tr and 2sc, 1sc into next ch1 sp, (ch4, 1sc into next ch1 sp) x 4}. Repeat the pattern in {} 14 more times. Ch4, 1sc into the next 1ch sp, ch2, 1hdc into the starting ch1.
Round 8: Ch1, 1sc into sp formed under 1hdc, (ch4, 1sc into next ch4 sp) x 3, {ch5, skip underlying ch4, 1sc into next 4ch sp, (ch4, 1sc into next 4ch sp) x 3}. Repeat the pattern in {} 14 more times. Ch5, skip underlying ch4, sl st into the starting ch1, sl st into first 2 st of the subsequent ch4.
Round 9: Ch1, 1sc into underlying 4ch sp, (ch4, 1sc into next 4ch sp) x 2, {ch5, skip underlying ch5, 1sc into next 4ch sp, (ch4, 1sc into next 4ch sp) x 2}. Repeat the pattern in {} 14 more times. Ch5, sl st into the starting ch1, sl st into first 2 st of subsequent ch4.
Round 10: Ch1, 1sc into the underlying 4ch sp, ch4, 1sc into next 4ch sp, {ch9, skip underlying ch5, 1sc into the next 4ch sp, ch4, 1sc into next 4ch sp}. Repeat the pattern in {} 14 more times. Ch9, sl st into the starting ch1, sl st into the first 2 st of subsequent ch4.
Round 11: Ch1, 1sc into underlying 4ch sp, {ch6, 1sc into 5th st of underlying ch9, ch6, 1sc into the next 4ch sp}. Repeat the pattern in {} 14 more times. Ch6, 1sc in the 5th st of underlying ch9, ch3, 1dc into the starting ch1.
Round 12: Ch1, 1sc into the same st, {ch7, sl st into the 3rd ch from the hook (this forms a picot st), ch3, 1sc into next 6ch sp}. Repeat the pattern in {} until end of round is reached (a total of 32 chains with picot st should be formed). Instead of 1sc in the last step, sl st into the starting ch1 and fasten off.
