Glow in the Dark Amigurumi Owls

Three owls: a tiny one, a small one and a big one. They decided to shine all night long. Super easy and quick crochet pattern!

 

 

Materials & Tools

 

 

  • Yarn: Glow in the Dark tape yarn
  • Parts: Toy stuffing
  • Hook: 3 mm and 1.5 mm crochet hook / US size 2 and 7
  • Other tools: Yarn needle, scissors, stitch marker.

SIZE:  4 cm x 4 cm (tiny owl), 4cm x 5 cm (small owl), 6cm x 10 cm (medium owl)

Notes

 

  • These glow in the dark owls are worked in spiral using a stitch marker or a piece of yarn to mark the end or of a round. Move the marker up after completing each round.
  • Add the filling only at the end of each owl, just before closing up.

With pink yarn, start with a magic ring.
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring


Round 2: 6 inc (x6) (12)


Round 3: 1 sc – 1 inc (x6) (18) 


Round 4: 2sc – 1 inc (x6) (24) 


Round 5: 3 sc – 1 inc (x6) (30)


Rounds 6-8: sc in each stitch (30)
Round 9: 1 dec – 3 sc (x6) (24)
Round 10: sc in each stitch (24)
Round 11: 1 dec – 2 sc (x6) (18)
Round 12: sc in each stitch (18)
Round 13: 1 dec – 1 sc (x6) (12)
Round 14: sc in each stitch (12)
Round 15: 3 sc, 1 dc, 4 sc, 1dc, 3sc. Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.

This completes the body.

Let’s make the eyes now (x2)

Using the 1.5 mm hook and the white yarn, start a magic ring
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring, fasten off.

Sew the eye patches to the head before you start stuffing the body – this way you can fasten all yarn tails securely with a knot inside the body.

Flatten the opening of the owl and make sure the two sides get overlapping. Stuff the body firmly and sew the opening closed.

With green yarn, start with a magic ring.
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring
