We start from the body to end with the head

With moonlight yarn make a magic ring

Round 1: 4 sc in magic ring, continue working in the round. Use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each new row. (4)

Round 2: inc, sc in the next 3 sts (5)

Round 3: inc, sc in the next 4 sts (6)

Round 4: (inc, sc in the next st) x2 (8)

Round 5: (inc, sc in the next st) x2 (10)

Round 6: (inc, sc in the next st) x2 (12)

Round 7: (inc, sc in the next st) x2 (14)

Round 8: (inc, sc in the next st) x2 (16)

Round 9-10: sc (16)

Round 11: (inc, sc in the next 7 sts) x2 (18)

Round 12-14: sc (18)

Round 15: sc only on the back loop (18)

Change yarn, use now dark cherry yarn:

Round 16-19: sc (normal, in both loops) (18)

Start stuffing little by little

Round 20: (sc, dec) x 6 (12)

Round 21: 6 dec (6)

Round 22: 6 inc (12)

Round 23: (inc, sc in the next st) x6 (18)

Round 24: (inc, sc in the next 2 st) x6 (24)

Round 25-29: sc (24)

Round 30: (sc in the next 2 st, dec) x6 (18)

Round 31: (sc in the next st, dec) x6 (12)

Round 32: 6 dec (6)

Close up.

Go back to row 15, sc in the loop of each st. Like that we create a little rim at the waist of the mermaid.

This completes the body.

Let’s do now the tail fins.

TAIL FINS (make 2)

Ch 7

Row 1: 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1hdc in next st, 1 dc in next 2 sts, 1hdc in next st, 1sc in last st.

Fasten off.

ARMS (make 2)

Make a magic ring

Row 1: 6sc in magic ring (6)

Row 2-6: sc (6)

Row 7: dec, sc in each st till the end (5)

Fasten off.

HAIR:

Make a magic ring

Row 1: 6sc in magic ring (6)

Row 2: 6 inc (12)

Row 3: (inc, sc in the next st) x6 (18)

Row 4: (inc, sc in the next 2 sts) x6 (24)

Now with simple chains we are going to make the fringe and longer strands of hair!

Row 5: (3ch, sl st in next st, 5ch, sl st in next st) x4, (ch8, sl st in next st) till the end.

Sew the hair to the head.

TINY STAR

Magic ring

Round 1: 5sc in magic ring, sl st to close ring

Round 2: (ch3, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, sl st in next st)x 5

Fasten off.

Assemble arms, fins and the little star (in her hand); with some scraps of blue yarn add the eyes! Congratulations with your little shiny mermaid!
