Â
Slipknot, CH 160, mark CH-80.
ROW1: In 2nd chain from hook, SC and CH 1. Then, DC in each CH across, stop before marker. At marker (CH 80), 3 DC in same CH. Move marker to top of the 2nd DC of the three you just made. Then, DC in each CH until the end.
Turn your work.
ROW2: SC and CH1 in first ST.
Then, *CH 1, SK 1, 1 DC in next DC* across, stop before the marker.
At marker [CH 1, 1 DC, CH 1, 1 DC, CH 1]. Marker second CH 1 in group, DC in next DC. Then, *CH 1, SK 1, 1 DC in next DC* until the end.
Turn your work.
ROW 3: SC and CH 1 in first ST.
Then *CH 1, 1 DC in next DC* across, stop before marker.
At marker [CH 1, 1 DC, CH 1, 1 DC, CH 1]. Move marker to 2nd CH 1 in group,
DC in next DC. Then, *CH 1, SK 1, 1 DC in next DC* until the end.
Turn your work.
ROWS 4 & 5: Repeat ROW 3.
We now start making a nice little ruffled edge.
ROW 6: SC and CH 1 in first ST, then DC in every DC and space across, stop before marker. At marker, 3 DC in SP, (mark second DC) then DC in every DC and space until end. Turn your work.
ROW 7: SC and CH1 in first ST.
Then, continue with *SC and CH1* in each DC.
Turn your work.
ROW 8: In each ST, *SC* until the end.
ROW 9: Repeat ROW 8.
Cut and secure the ends. Bring the cornors of one extremity of the shawl together and bind together, then attach a button-bead. In this way, the shawl can be closed as a loop when worn. To do this, pass the button head through one of the large stitches on the other extremity.
MAKING THE SMALL BUTTON-BEAD
Crochet Hook: Size 4 mm
Working in double (two strands of yarn, each 1 meter long), make a slipknot and CH 12.
ROW 1: SC in each CH.
Turn your work.
ROW 2: SC in each ST.
Cut, and roll on itself. Stitch through all thicknesses to secure.
Finished! Brava!
